My track record with keeping up social media sites and blogs has been frustrating to myself and to others. Generally, my online presence on these sites can be as long as half-a-year and as short as a few weeks. When you are an introvert, social media is a haven and a safe space. The problem is the very things that cause people to become introverts (bullying, cliques, cultism, etc) also exist in social media.
Although the belief is true that you are the master of your own fate and how you experience things. If experience has told me anything, it’s that you can never control how a group will react to you or whether you are the next in line to get bullied. This is why I tend to be a lone wolf.
For many years, equally on and off, I was a blogger. I would post my links on Twitter and Facebook and leave it at that. I was never completely keen on being socialable and the few attempts I’ve tried I feel like, because I’m an introvert, I would miss social queues and be caught up in someone “silent anger”. My latest leave from YouTube and Facebook is due to a stalker.
I would explain further, but I’d rather not go into it. This stalker has many agents running around watching for anything that is said about them on the Internet. All I can say is that when a person shows you who they really are. GET OUT!
